Everyone around here is calling South Florida "The Skin Belt." It's sort of funny to me, but it makes perfect sense if you think about it. If you open up any Miami New Times or other publication, everyone is always advertising skin creams, cosmetic surgeries, or other sorts of skin care procedures.
You have things such as the Vitality Institute on 8th and Alton, run by the famous Dr. Kalil. You have all of the big Aventura-based cosmetic surgeons always ready to do a Botox injection, and you have all of the great products, such as our award-winning hometown company Elite Skin, made right here in South Florida.
Yes, the Skin Belt does have it's obvious advantages. For starters, anyone who is in Miami or Lauderdale has an obvious advantage as far as import/export relationships go. Being close to the port of Miami is an obvious advantage in world trade, but besides that, customers residing overseas will have a much easier time getting products when they are shipped from Miami versus say, Chicago.
Obtaining raw materials is also much easier with a Miami location. It's obvious, Miami and South Florida are the preferred grounds for skin care professionals. The South Florida Skin Belt is here to stay!
