Coldfront Comes Through Miami

Miami is suffering from an extreme cold front, well, I say extreme for those of us accustomed to wearing shorts for most of our time in Florida.

The temperature has been in the low 50's, and the sun has been pretty much non-existent in the Miami area so far this week. It's about time the sun warms up so we can have a "hot Christmas." Seriously, this is hurting my time on the golf course!

At least I have been able to get some work done, and I promise....NOBODY has built more links for sites like the Miami Blog than me. Nobody!

The South Beach Sun Can Cause Wrinkles

Everyone knows how hot the night life is in South Beach, but did you know that the close proximity to the sun makes the Miami sun a serious wrinkle-inducing element?



It's true. The sun is a serious threat to your skin in Miami. The amount of sunshine that is cast down on your skin each and every day causes wrinkles. Whether you see sun damage today, or you wait until you see facial wrinkles later on in your life, these are all aftershocks of the sun. I wonder how South Beach will be when the Super Bowl is in Miami in a few months? Last time the Super Bowl came around Ocean Drive was a mess. Espn was set up across from the Clevelander, and PTA and all the other shows broadcast right from the beach! I remember being in the background of the Jim Rome Show in the 2006 Super Bowl.

Joey Porter Ridin' Dirty

Have you seen who the players think is the second dirtiest player in the NFL today? IF you haven't get ready for some news, Dolphans. People are calling Joey Porter the second dirtiest player in the NFL today, behind only former teammate Hines Ward.

The survey will be outlined in Sports Illustrated on Wednesday, and it was the result of players who replied to a survey asking them who they thought was a dirty player.

Porter is a vocal leader of the Miami Dolphins, and a big part of their successful run to the post-season last year.

You have things such as the Vitality Institute on 8th and Alton, run by the famous Dr. Kalil. You have all of the big Aventura-based cosmetic surgeons always ready to do a Botox injection, and you have all of the great products, such as our award-winning hometown company Elite Skin, made right here in South Florida.

Yes, the Skin Belt does have it's obvious advantages. For starters, anyone who is in Miami or Lauderdale has an obvious advantage as far as import/export relationships go. A Miami woman, Monica, has started a skin care opinion blog. She allows users to upload a photo of their skin and she provides a full analysis of what the issue may be. At times, she even suggests a product or two to use.

So many people take care of their skin by using anti aging creams, it's not even funny. Miami Blog Launches With a Bang

There is a new sheriff in town, as a new Miami Blog has been found. I thought I was the only person who reported on all of the good, bad, and the ugly that happens around Miami, or as I like to call it "Bizarroworld."

I surfed into MiamiBlog.com and started laughing my face off. There are some hilarious articles already posted on the blog, and it was pretty classic commentary given by a guy named Terry Bender on subjects from berating his fellow columnist about her passion to always report on beauty products such as eye gels.

Miami is a HILARIOUS place to live and report from, and by the looks of the posted content about Miami and the beaches, it looks like this blog is here to stay.

Wrinkle Creams - Are they for real?

Down here in hot South Beach, Miami, there are many factors that can make us develop wrinkles. Obviously, the sun is a major factor in getting facial wrinkles, and the powerful UV rays of the hot Miami sun are NO JOKE. It's important that people use plenty of spf sunblock when they visit Miami and the beaches. This not only protects from sunburn, but it also prevents wrinkles.

All of a sudden I started seeing advertisements for anti wrinkle creams. They are everywhere. Aventura Mall is home to Sephora, which sells cosmetics and beauty products including wrinkle creams. Take a look online, on any health portal, and you will be sure to see information about wrinkle creams. The question I pose is - do they work?

Well, that depends on what you define as "works." Do they reduce the appearance of wrinkles? Absolutely. Do they eliminate wrinkles? No. Nothing, not even the powerful botox injections, can eliminate wrinkles forever. I'm sure you have all seen advertisements talking about banishing wrinkles forever, but that is simply marketing hype.
